How do you feel before implantable contact lens surgery?Dr Matthew Russell reveals how patients feel before implantable contact lens surgery.ICL surgery is a minimally invasive procedure that can be done in an outpatient setting. It usually takes less than 30 minutes to complete and most people experience little to no pain afterwards. Recovery times vary from person to person, but most people are able to return to their normal activities within a day or two. Additionally, ICL surgery has a very high success rate, with most people achieving 20/20 vision or better. Why Choose ICL Surgery? There are many reasons why someone might choose ICL surgery over other types of refractive surgery, such as LASIK. For starters, ICL surgery can be used to correct a wider range of vision problems. It is also a good option for people who are not candidates for LASIK due to thin corneas or other factors. Additionally, ICL surgery has a lower risk of dry eyes and night vision problems than LASIK. Finally, ICL surgery is reversible, which means that if your vision changes over time, the lenses can be removed or replaced as needed. Most people who are good candidates for intraocular contact lens surgery are people who have some of the worst levels of vision and some of the highest prescriptions of all of our patients. This means they have the poorest vision without glasses and they really struggle to do most of the normal day-to-day activities, because of those restrictions. For example, most of our patients who are good candidates for ICLs have great difficulty with their distance and near vision, without having to wear glasses. The glasses go on first thing in the morning and they come off the last thing in the evening. Because of the high script, those glasses really do change the person’s appearance, and they’re often quite conscious of that. They are really looking forward to leaving that all behind them. These patients have a difficult time with their eyes and they’re generally very frustrated. ICL surgery provides an excellent solution for these people. If you would like to learn more about laser vision correction and understand which treatment is going to be most appropriate for you to free you from glasses and contact lenses, then please go to our website and book online for a free laser vision assessment.Found this post useful?
