How much time & money could vision correction save you?
What’s the reason behind the price of vision correction?
Some people wonder why laser vision correction surgery costs so much. Even though one eye only costs as much as one bottle of imported beer ($9.00) each day over a year.
Firstly, simply setting up the diagnostic equipment to help mend eye conditions such as a refractive error, has an average cost of between $50K and $100K.
Secondly, an eye surgeon requires 18 years of training to become qualified to perform such a medical procedure as vision correction i.e. photorefractive keratectomy.
Then there are the expenses of running a world-class clinic in a major urban area, such as rent, staffing, insurance, and other overheads.
Plus, a typical excimer laser (used to shape the eye) costs between $150.000 at the low end and nearly $300.000 at the high end.
Depending on the type of lens implant you choose, the price may also be higher but that doesn’t mean there are not plenty of options, such as payment plans to help better manage the cost.
Our laser eye surgery pricing plans are something we can offer you to help make eye surgery that much more affordable.
