Should I feel scared about refractive cataract surgery?

Dr Matthew Russell discusses whether or not you should feel scared about refractive cataract surgery

It’s quite normal if you’re going through surgery of any nature on the eye to feel somewhat apprehensive or nervous – that’s quite normal.

We’ll give you some sedation so you won’t be aware of anything going on. You’ll almost be asleep through the surgery.

Afterward, you can expect your eye to be quite comfortable. Even if you feel a little bit nervous – and that’s natural – you should expect to have a very calm and comfortable experience during the procedure.
