SmartSight aftercare Do’s and Don’ts: How to take care of your eyes after vision correctionHi, it’s Dr. Russell from VSON. When I tell people I’m a LASIK surgeon, some ask me: “How to take care of your eyes after vision correction”.Immediately after your SmartSight procedure, you’ll notice improvements in your vision. It’s important however that you take care of your eyes following your vision correction procedure.Similar steps will need to be taken regardless of the type of procedure you undergo, so you’ll find the steps we recommend you follow after SmartSight, very similar if not identical to those of LASIK or PRK.Your vision may be foggy or blurry for the first few hours after surgery, so keep your eyes closed. We recommend you get picked up from the clinic by a friend following your procedure. We strongly recommend you don’t take the underground later in the day, but you may take taxis or overground trains. You can return to doing light activities at home, but avoid doing anything that could poke or touch your eyes. You can prevent eye strain and ensure a quick recovery by avoiding all screens – TVs, smartphones, tablets, computers, e-readers – and reading activities that require prolonged eye movement. If you want to avoid irritating your eyes with soap and water, take a bath instead of a shower.Set up a good drop routine and be aware of things like air conditioning that can dry out your eyes. You may experience very mild itching or dryness. Get relief by using lubricant drops instead of rubbing your eyes. Please avoid alcohol. To learn more about laser eye surgery, or if you have any questions, schedule a free assessment at VSON here.Home » SmartSight » SmartSight aftercare Do’s and Don’ts: How to take care of your eyes after vision correction Search for: ARE YOU SUITABLE?Check your laser eye surgery suitability online with our free LASIK self-testTAKE SUITABILITY SELF-TESTOUR MOST POPULAR PROCEDURESLASIKSmartSightICLLens ReplacementPRKRefractive cataract surgeryFAQsWHAT OUR PATIENTS SAY…“Very friendly and professional staff.
