Hi, it’s Matt Russell from VSON Laser Vision Specialists. If you’re thinking about having LASIK laser eye surgery, in this blog post, I answer the frequently asked question: Does LASIK surgery hurt?
Almost everybody who comes in to see us for LASIK surgery is very concerned that they may experience pain during the procedure. And everybody is surprised to find that there is absolutely no pain! There is no pain at all with LASIK surgery.
There is some pressure and a sense of movement during certain parts of the procedure. The vision does become dim for a period of a few seconds during certain parts of the process, but there is absolutely no pain during the procedure. After the procedure, there may be some minor grittiness, almost like a hair being in the eye for an hour or two, which clears very quickly, particularly with the use of lubricating drops. And following that, there is absolutely no discomfort at all.
