Dr Matthew Russell explains what refractive cataract surgery is
Refractive cataract surgery is a normal cataract operation. However, in addition to clearing the vision by removing the cataract, we take the opportunity to correct your focusing problems.
For example, if you are short-sighted or long-sighted or have astigmatism, we’d select a lens to match your refractive problem to correct that at the same time as removing your cataracts.
In addition, we’re able to use special lenses, premium lenses, or multifocal lenses to extend the range of focus in your eye to restore a normal range of focus and give back not only good distance vision but restore the mid-range and close vision as well.
