Well, let’s begin with a little background on laser eye surgeries…
Over the years, laser eye surgeries have been performed with a success rate of 99%, with such procedures having helped many ill-sighted patients to see clearly again.
With the advancement of laser eye surgery, new procedures are becoming more popular. One such procedure is SmartSight, which is a trade name for Small Incision Lenticule Extraction. The other, which you may be familiar with, is LASIK.
The difference between the procedures is that surgeons create a flap with LASIK and only create a small keyhole incision with SmartSight.
Both procedures are gentle on the eye and normally require only several minutes of operative time per eye. You won’t feel any pain during the procedure but may feel a small amount of discomfort when the laser is applied.
