Early on in my career in medicine, when I was just a medical student, I was astounded by the capacity of microsurgery in the eye to be able to transform someone’s vision from poor to extraordinary. To enable them to carry on living a fully normal life with absolutely normal vision.
Over the years, the technology has evolved to an amazing level, and I believe now that we’re at a point where we can do laser eye surgery for people to transform their vision, to get them free of glasses and contact lenses, and that it can be done with an extraordinary degree of safety and an extraordinary degree of precision by someone with a very high level of expertise.
